Brian Callahan Killed in Train Crash on Hickory Hills Boulevard in Denton County

Denton County, Texas (March 20, 2019) – The man who was struck and killed by a train while crossing the railroad tracks in his pickup Monday evening in the town of Hickory Creek in Denton County has been identified as Brian Callahan, 61, according to authorities.
The tragic accident happened at around 6:45 p.m. Monday, March 18 at Hickory Hills Boulevard and Interstate 35E, near Lewisville Lake.
Authorities said the truck was hit by a Denton County Transportation Authority Train that was traveling at approximately 60 miles per hour.
Callahan was declared dead at the scene. No one onboard was hurt in the wreck.
According to a local news source, the crossing arms at the track at Hickory Hills Boulevard were shut down following the crash.
No other details were immediately available.
The accident remains under investigation.
