Brian Williams and Denice Emmons Injured in Sabine County Two-Vehicle Crash at SH 87 and Six Mile Village Road

Sabine County, Texas (September 23, 2022) – Two people were injured Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Sabine County, according to the DPS.

The crash happened around 9:20 a.m., September 22, at the intersection of State Highway 87 and Six Mile Village Road.

DPS said a 2014 Mazda passenger car was traveling northbound while a 2017 Kia SUV was traveling southbound. The Mazda failed to yield to the Kia when it attempted to make a left turn onto Six Mile Village Road, resulting in a collision.

Brian Williams, 41, who was a passenger in the Mazda, was taken to Sabine County Hospital for treatment.  

The Kia driver, 58-year-old Denice Emmons of Hemphill, was taken to Sabine County Hospital for treatment. 

The Mazda driver, 22-year-old Andrew Thibodeaux of Lake Charles, La., was uninjured in the crash. He was cited for failing to yield right of way to approaching traffic while turning left.

The crash remains under investigation.
