38-Year-Old Bruce Henry Chavez Killed in North Austin Pedestrian Accident on East Parmer Lane

Austin, Texas (April 24, 2020) – The pedestrian who was fatally hit by a vehicle early Monday morning in North Austin has been identified as Bruce Henry Chavez, 38, according to police.

The deadly accident occurred just after midnight, April 20, in the 9100 block of East Parmer Lane.

Police said Chavez was walking in the middle lane when he was struck by a 2017 white Freightliner box truck that was traveling eastbound within the inside lane.

Chavez was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation into the crash is underway. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at (512) 974-4424 or submit tips by downloading APD’s mobile app, Austin PD, for free on iPhone and Android.
