Callie Bearden and Shelby Partain Killed in Longview Five-Vehicle Crash at North Eastman Road and Fourth Street

Longview, Texas (June 1, 2023) – Two people were killed, and nine others were injured Monday evening in a five-vehicle crash in Longview, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 5:00 p.m., May 29, near the intersection of the 3100 block of North Eastman Road and Fourth Street.

Police said Callie Bearden, 19, of Longview, was driving a white Chevrolet Sonic with one passenger at a high rate of speed heading southbound on South Eastman Road. Her vehicle failed to stop, and she struck another vehicle. A total of five vehicles were involved in the collision.

Bearden was taken to a local hospital, where she later died. Shelby Partain, 32, who was a passenger in another vehicle, was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.

Nine other people were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Longview Police Department is investigating the crash. Anyone with any information about the crash is asked to call the police department at (903) 237-1199.
