Carl Taylor Jr., Nicholas Flakes, and Jordan Lewis Killed in La Grange Two-Vehicle Crash at SH 71 and Bordovsky Road 

La Grange, Texas (January 22, 2022) – Three people were killed Monday afternoon in a fiery two-vehicle crash west of La Grange, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 1:22 p.m., January 10, at the intersection of SH 71 and Bordovsky Road.

Authorities said a 2017 Volvo truck-tractor pulling a trailer was traveling westbound on SH 71 when it entered the turning lane to turn left. The truck and trailer stopped in the turning lane when a westbound white Toyota Camry entered the turning lane and rear-ended the trailer.

The Toyota burst into flames after the collision. The three people in the vehicle, the driver, Carl Taylor Jr., 23, of Natchitoches, the back seat passenger, Nicholas Flakes, 20, of Campti, and the front seat passenger Jordan Lewis, 17, were killed in the crash.

The truck driver was identified as Ezathullah Atiq, 38, of Houston.

No other details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
