Carlos Ibarbo-Flores Killed in Moore County Two-Vehicle Crash at FM 2589 and US 87

Moore County, Texas (August 15, 2022) – According to the Texas DPS, one person was killed, and another was injured early Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Moore County.

The fatal crash occurred around 12:15 a.m., at the intersection of FM 2589 and US 87.

DPS said 61-year-old Carlos Ibarbo-Flores was driving a Mazda northbound on FM 2589 and was approaching the intersection while a semi-truck was traveling eastbound on US 87.

Flores ran the stop sign at the intersection and entered into the path of a semi-truck. The semi-truck struck the Mazda and came to a rest on its wheels in the northbound ditch on US 87.

Carlos was pronounced dead at the scene.

The semi-truck driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
