Carly Beatty Injured in College Station Pedestrian Accident on Texas Avenue near University Drive; Pedro Puga Arrested

College Station, Texas (September 17, 2019) – A woman was injured in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident early Saturday morning in College Station, according to the police.

The accident took place around 2:00 a.m. September 14, on Texas Avenue, near University Drive.

Police said Carly Beatty, 19, of Frisco, and her friends were walking back to their house along Texas Avenue when she was hit by a northbound a Nissan Pathfinder.

Beatty was airlifted to the hospital with multiple fractures and internal bleeding. She graduated from Centennial High School in 2018.

According to witnesses, the driver of the car got out of the vehicle, inspected the car, got back in, and fled the scene.

The suspect, Pedro Puga, 17, of Bryan, was later found in a parking lot on E. Villa Maria Road and he led officers on a short foot chase. He was arrested and booked into the Brazos County Jail.

Puga was charged with Intoxication Assault with a Vehicle, Failure to Stop and Render Aid, and Evading Arrest.

An investigation is ongoing.
