Carmen King Critically Injured in NW Odessa Motorcycle Accident on Golder at Paradise

Odessa, Texas (February 3, 2021) – A man was critically injured in a motorcycle crash Tuesday evening in Northwest Odessa, according to police.

The crash happened around 5:05 p.m., February 2, in the 3700 block of Golder at Paradise.

Police said Carmen King, 71, of Odessa, was riding a motorcycle northbound while a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound.

The Silverado attempted to turn eastbound onto Paradise, failed to yield the right of way, and struck the motorcycle.

King was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was listed in critical condition.

The authorities are investigating the crash.

Most motorcycle crashes are caused by negligent drivers who don’t keep a proper lookout or fail to yield the right-of-way. Because motorcyclists are vulnerable, their injuries are usually severe, often suffering from road rash, broken bones, brain injuries, amputations, or spinal cord injuries.
