Cesar Edgardo Cabrera Killed in Car Accident on I-10 in San Antonio

43-Year-Old Cesar Edgardo Cabrera Killed in San Antonio Car Crash on I-10 near UTSA Boulevard

San Antonio, Texas (May 5, 2020) – The driver who was killed Saturday night in a traffic collision in San Antonio has been identified as Cesar Edgardo Cabrera, 43, according to police.

The fatal crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. May 2, in the 13600 block of W. Interstate 10 near UTSA Boulevard.

Police said Cabrera was driving a 1998 Ford Explorer eastbound when he lost control and hit a concrete barrier on the west side of the freeway. The Explorer then skidded across the main lanes and hit a concrete divider.

The Explorer was then hit by a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.

A witness said Cabrera might have lost control of his vehicle after a Toyota RAV4 possibly cut him off.

Cabrera was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Silverado was taken to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The police are investigating the crash.
