Child Injured in Austin Pedestrian Accident on West William Cannon Drive near MoPac Expressway

Austin, Texas (May 9, 2021) – A child was injured Saturday night in a pedestrian accident in south Austin, according to officials.

The accident happened on May 8, in the 4400 block of West William Cannon Drive, just west of MoPac Expressway.

Officials said the child, who is believed to be 3 or 4 years old, was struck by a vehicle.

The child was taken to Dell Children’s Medical Center with critical, life-threatening injuries.

The driver remained at the scene after the accident. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

An investigation is underway.
