Christopher Solis Killed in West Harris County Bicycle Accident on Greenhouse near Saums

Harris County, Texas (June 19, 2020) – A 16-year-old boy was killed early Thursday morning in a hit-and-run crash in west Harris County, according to deputies.

The deadly accident occurred just before 3:00 a.m. June 18, in the 2500 block of Greenhouse north of Saums.

Deputies said Christopher Solis and his friend were riding their bicycles along the dark roadway when he was rear-ended by a car.

The impact threw Solis into the median. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His friend was uninjured.

The driver fled the scene and continued driving northbound. Deputies are looking for the suspect driver. The involved car was described as a 2014 to 2016 Mazda 6, four-door, gray in color.

The car has a damaged front left and is missing the driver’s side housing and mirror, front left plastic wheel well, and front left side of the bumper cover. It might also have some green LED undercarriage lighting.
