Christopher Vassef and Leonora Soriano ID’d as 2 Killed in Taylor DUI Crash on FM 973 at Carlos Parker Boulevard SW

Taylor, Texas (September 6, 2022) – The two people who died on Monday evening following a two-car collision in Taylor have been identified as 38-year-old Christopher Ali Vassef and 39-year-old Leonora Naomi Soriano, both from Elgin.

The deadly crash happened at around 6:16 p.m. Monday, September 5, on FM 973 at Carlos Parker Boulevard SW.

Taylor police said Crayton, Jr., was driving a silver 2005 Dodge pickup truck northbound on FM 973 when he allegedly ran a red light and entered the intersection of Carlos Parker Boulevard SW, where he struck a 2013 Toyota Avalon. A total of four vehicles were involved in the crash.

Vassef and Soriano were in the Toyota Avalon and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Crayton, Jr. was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter, which is a second-degree felony.

No further details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
