Constable Captain Billy Masden Hurt in DUI Crash on SH 249 in Montgomery County

Constable Captain Billy Masden Injured in Montgomery County Crash on State Highway 249
Montgomery County, Texas (March 11, 2019) – A Precinct 5 Constable Captain was injured on Saturday in a suspected DUI crash on a Montgomery County highway, according to the authorities.
The crash occurred on Saturday, March 9, on State Highway 249.
Authorities said Captain Billy Masden was closing lanes at a construction site along the highway and was sitting in his patrol car with all emergency lights flashing when a white pickup truck rear-ended his car. The impact pushed the patrol car almost one hundred feet.
The pickup continued, crashing into a construction sign and the pickup truck which was pulling it. The impact pushed the truck into a ditch in the construction site.
Masden sustained non-life-threatening injuries from the crash.
The driver of the pickup and a female passenger were uninjured in the crash. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI and was taken to Montgomery County Jail.
The crash remains under investigation.
