Crystal Goforth Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 385 in Levelland

Levelland, Texas (October 16, 2022) – Authorities have identified the animal control officer who died Thursday morning following a two-vehicle crash in Levelland as Crystal Jeanette Goforth, 38, of Levelland.

The deadly crash occurred at around 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 13 on U.S. Highway 385 between Alaska and Brazil Road.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a Chevrolet 2500 HD pickup, driven by a 42-year-old Sundown man, was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 385 when, for unknown reasons, the Chevrolet veered right onto the northbound improvised shoulder and rear-ended a Ford F-150 pickup that was parked facing north on the northbound improvised shoulder of U.S. 385.

Goforth who was the driver of the Ford was outside of the vehicle at the time of the accident. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger, Jon Corder, was airlifted to University Medical Center in critical condition.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
