Curtis Townsend Killed in Leander Two-Vehicle Crash at State Highway 29 and Ronald Reagan Boulevard

Leander, Texas (June 11, 2020) – The 39-year-old man who was killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck last week Tuesday morning in Leander has been identified as Curtis Townsend, according to police.

The fatal crash happened around 8:43 a.m., June 2, at the intersection of State Highway 29 and Ronald Reagan Boulevard.

Witnesses told officers that an 18-wheeler was traveling northbound on Ronald Reagan Boulevard when it ran a red light at the intersection and hit a pickup truck that was traveling eastbound on Highway 29.

The pickup truck driver, Townsend, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The big rig driver, a 44-year-old man, was taken to Round Rock St. David’s Hospital with minor injuries.

The crash closed the intersection for several hours.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
