Cynthia Gamboa and Her Unborn Child Killed in Head-On Crash on New Mexico State Road 136 in El Paso

El Paso, Texas (February 7, 2019) – The pregnant woman who was killed in a head-on crash last week Thursday evening in El Paso near Santa Teresa has been identified as Cynthia P. Gamboa, 24, of Chaparral, according to the police.
The fatal crash happened on Thursday, January 31, on New Mexico State Road 136.
Police said Gamboa was driving a 2009 Toyota when she crossed the center line into oncoming traffic and her vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle.
Gamboa was airlifted to an El Paso hospital where she and her unborn child died the next day. She was about 35 weeks pregnant.
The other driver, a 20-year-old from El Paso, was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
Police said alcohol was an unlikely factor in the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
