Santiago was killed in the crash. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Officers said the vehicles that swerved might have been racing.

The crash remains under investigation.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Daniel Santiago.

Most motorcycle crashes are caused by negligent drivers who don’t keep a proper lookout or fail to yield the right-of-way. Because motorcyclists are vulnerable, their injuries are usually severe, often suffering from road rash, broken bones, brain injuries, amputations, or spinal cord injuries. In some cases the accident results in death.
