David Mendiola, Jr. Killed in Andrews County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 115

Andrews County, Texas (July 2, 2019) – A man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning on an Andrews County highway, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened at about 4:56 a.m. June 29, on State Highway 115.

DPS said David Mendiola, Jr., 20, of Andrews, was driving a 2015 Sierra pickup southwest on the highway while a 2015 Freightliner truck tractor towing a semi-trailer was traveling northeast.

Mendiola then veered across the center stripe and struck the truck partially head on.

Mendiola was killed in the crash.

The truck driver sustained non-life threatening injuries.

 The DPS is investigating the crash.
