Dennis Marenius and Anita Marenius Killed, Keanu Canady Injured in El Paso Two-Vehicle at Ameen Street and Dyer Street

El Paso, Texas (July 29, 2021) – The two people who were killed Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash that left one other person injured in Northeast El Paso have been identified as Dennis Marenius, 65, and Anita Ellen Marenius,66, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened on July 27, at the intersection of Dyer Street and Ameen Street.

Authorities said Dennis was driving a 2012 Mini Cooper northbound on Dyer Street when he entered the left designated turning lane and proceeded to turn onto Ameen Street.

Dennis failed to yield the right of way, and the Mini Cooper was T-boned by a 2017 Dodge Charger that was heading southbound on Dyer Street.

Dennis was taken to the hospital, where he later died. His passenger, Anita, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Dodge driver, Keanu Canady, 23, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The police are conducting the investigation.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice. They often ask how such a life-altering event could have happened to them,” attorney Joel A. Gordon said. “The next question usually is, who can help me?” Mr. Gordon added.

A legal advocate can represent an injury victim or the family of a deceased victim. The attorney will file a claim on behalf of the victim and will have the responsibility of citing existing codes, laws, or statutes which were violated.
