Destiny Rodriguez Killed in San Antonio Three-Vehicle Crash at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Walters; Leonel Martinez Arrested

San Antonio, Texas (June 15, 2020) – A woman was killed, and another person was injured Saturday evening in a three-vehicle crash in San Antonio, according to police.

The fatal crash happened just before 5:30 p.m. on June 13, at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, and Walters.

Police said Leonel Martinez, 38, was driving a Hummer when he crashed into two smaller vehicles at the intersection.

Martinez and his passenger fled the scene, but they were later located and arrested.

Destiny Rodriguez, 27, was in one of the smaller vehicles and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver in the other small vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Martinez was booked and charged with a DWI, intoxicated manslaughter, intoxicated assault, failure to stop and render aid – death and failure to stop and render aid – SBI.

The crash remains under investigation.
