Diego Escalante Killed, Antonio Castanon Injured in El Paso Two-Vehicle Crash on Montana Avenue near Marr Street

El Paso, Texas (March 19, 2022) – The man who was injured on Monday in a head-on collision in central El Paso has died, according to the police.

Diego Escalante, 31, died on Wednesday, March 16.

The crash happened around 6:50 p.m., on March 14, on Montana Avenue near Marr Street.

Police said Escalante was driving westbound when he veered into the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with a truck driven by 58-year-old Antonio Castanon.

Escalante and Castanon were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, where Escalante later died.

No other details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
