Donald L. Wehmeyer Killed in Rockwall Plane Crash near Ralph M. Hall Municipal Airport

Rockwall, Texas (November 18, 2020) – Two people were killed in a plane crash Thursday afternoon in Rockwall, according to officials.

The crash happened just after 1:00 p.m., November 12, near the 1900 block of State Highway 66.

FAA said the single-engine Cessna 182 crashed after it hit a power line near the Ralph M. Hall Municipal Airport.

The plane overturned and started a small fire after crashing.

The pilot and the passenger were killed in the crash. They have been identified as Donald L. Wehmeyer, 75, and Curtis G. Robertson Jr., 67, both from Abilene.

The crash closed State Highway 66 between John King Boulevard and FM 3549.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
