Douglas Joseph Vogelsass Fatally Hit by Car on William Cannon Drive and Highway 290 in South Austin
Douglas Joseph Vogelsass ID’d as Man Killed in South Austin Pedestrian Collision on William Cannon Drive and Highway 290
South Austin, Texas (August 10, 2019) – The pedestrian who was hit and killed by a vehicle early Sunday morning in South Austin has been identified as Douglas Joseph Vogelsass, 44, according to the Austin Police Department.
The crash happened just after 1 a.m. Sunday, August 4, on William Cannon Drive and Highway 290.
Police said Vogelsass was walking across the street against a red light when he was hit by a Ford F-150 pickup truck.
Vogelsass was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the involved car stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
The crash is under investigation.
