Dr Billy Satterfield Killed in Clear Lake Car Crash on Pineloch Drive and Galveston Road

Clear Lake, Texas (March 2, 2019) – A fatal multi-vehicle collision involving two suspected drunk drivers left one passenger dead in Clear Lake early Friday morning, according to the police.
The accident occurred at about 1 a.m. March 1, near Pineloch Drive and Galveston Road.
Police said Erik DeLeon, 21, was driving a Dodge pickup truck on Galveston Road when he sideswiped a vehicle. He then went through the intersection and crashed into a sedan driven by Afghan refugee Ezatullah Safi.
Another pickup driven by Jesse Mercado, 32, also traveled through the intersection and struck the Ford.
A passenger in the sedan, identified as Dr Billy Satterfield, was killed in the crash. Safi was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries.
DeLeon was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.
Mercado was arrested on charges of DUI.
The investigation is ongoing.
