Dred Martin Killed in Aransas Pass Pedestrian Accident on Highway 35 near Moore Avenue

Aransas Pass, Texas (January 21, 2021) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident Wednesday evening in Aransas Pass, according to police.

The deadly accident happened just after 7:15 p.m., January 20, in the southbound lanes of Highway 35 near Moore Avenue.

Police said Dred Martin, 64, of Aransas County, was walking in the grass along the side of the highway when he crossed into the roadway and was struck by a vehicle.

Martin was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Officers said the driver was not impaired at the time of the crash.
