Driver Airlifted After Train Hits 18-Wheeler on Katy Hockley Road in Hockley

Truck Driver in Critical Condition after Hockley Crash on Katy Hockley Road near Old Highway 290 and Highway 6

Hockley, Texas (April 20, 2022) – A driver was flown to a hospital in critical condition following a collision between a train and an 18-wheeler in Hockley on Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The wreck took place in the 16000 block of Katy Hockley Road near Old Highway 290 and Highway 6.

According to the authorities, the train struck the 18-wheeler under unclear circumstances on Katy Hockley Road.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was airlifted to the hospital in critical but stable condition. The identity of the patient at this time remained unknown.

The road was closed while the investigation and clean-up took place.

No other details about the crash were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
