Driver Injured in Fiery Big Rig Crash on Texas Route 6 in Navasota

One Seriously Injured in Navasota Two-Vehicle Crash on Texas Route 6 near FM 2154
Navasota, Texas (January 11, 2019) – A driver was seriously injured in a fiery two-vehicle crash involving a big rig Wednesday afternoon in Navasota, according to the authorities.
The crash happened at an unspecified time on Wednesday, January 9, on Texas Route 6 near FM 2154.
Police said a tractor-trailer which was hauling pipes, pulled off the roadway for the driver to check on the load’s security. The big rig then tried to reenter the highway and as it merged back in, a pickup truck hauling a trailer rear-ended it.
The impact caused the pickup truck to catch fire.
The pickup driver was pulled out of the vehicle by the bystanders before the flames could reach him.
The driver was then flown to CHI St. Joseph Hospital in serious condition. His name was not immediately disclosed.
The big rig driver was uninjured in the crash.
The authorities are investigating the crash.
