Arlington, Texas (May 25, 2020) – One person was killed Sunday morning in a traffic accident involving an Arlington Fire Department truck in Arlington, police said.

The fatal crash occurred around 12:45 a.m. May 24, in the 600 block of eastbound Interstate 20.

Police said officers and the fire department were responding to a crash involving an overturned vehicle on the freeway. One of the fire engines had its emergency lights on and was in the left lane and inside the shoulder of the freeway when another vehicle failed to move over and rear-ended the fire engine.

The driver of that vehicle was taken to the hospital, where he later died. His name has not been released.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

An investigation into the crash is underway.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
