Drone Officer injured in Crash on I-20 in Dallas County

Drone Officer Injured in Dallas County Crash on Interstate 20 near Mountain Creek Parkway 

Dallas County, Texas – A drone police officer was injured early Thursday morning in a crash in Dallas County, according to the police.

The crash happened around 4:15 a.m., February 15, on Interstate 20 near Mountain Creek Parkway.

Police said they saw a sexual assault suspect fleeing the location where the assault was reported in Grand Prairie and they began chasing him. The chase ended when the suspect stopped in the median of the highway and ran away. A drone operator officer was called to the scene to help officers look for the suspect but when the officer arrived at the scene, they were rear-ended by another driver.

The officer and the other driver were treated for minor injuries.

The suspect in the chase was eventually found and arrested.

An investigation is underway.
