Dylan-Michael Peter Edward Killed in Calhoun County Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 35 near Garza Road

Calhoun County, Texas (February 10, 2021) – Two people were killed Monday evening in a head-on collision in Calhoun County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 7:00 p.m., February 8, on State Highway 35 near Garza Road.

DPS said a 2009 GMC Sierra pickup truck was traveling northbound on the highway when it crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a southbound 2013 White Chrysler.

The GMC driver, Joseph Richard Wheeler, 57, of Port Lavaca, was taken to Memorial Medical Center and was later pronounced dead.

The Chrysler driver, Dylan-Michael Peter Edward, 28, of Livingston, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
