Edwardo Valdez Injured in Car Crash on Highway 84 near Slaton

46-Year-Old Edwardo Valdez Injured in Slaton Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 84 near CR 2950

Slaton, Texas (April 3, 2020) – A man was injured in a two-vehicle crash in between Lubbock and Slaton, according to the DPS.

The crash happened on Highway 84 near Country Road 2950.

DPS said 46-year-old Edwardo Valdez was driving eastbound in the same direction as a semi-truck.

Valdez then slowed and tried to turn right. The semi driver moved to the left lane, and Valdez changed lanes because he felt unsafe and attempted to go through a turnaround to travel back westbound.

The semi then hit Valdez’s vehicle.

Valdez was taken to University Medical Center with incapacitating injuries.

The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured in the crash.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
