Elderly Driver Injured in Crash with Suspected Stolen Vehicle on Salem Road in Victoria

81-Year-Old Driver Hospitalized after Victoria Crash on Salem Road

Victoria, Texas (March 30, 2019) – An elderly driver was hospitalized after being involved in a collision with a vehicle suspected to have been stolen in Victoria on Thursday afternoon, according to the Victoria police.
The incident happened in the 1200 block of Salem Road.
Police said a Victoria man was suspected to have stolen a Chevrolet Silverado in the 1600 block East Brazos Street at about 2:23 p.m. March 28, before he crashed into a Ford Focus operated by an 81-year-old driver on Salem Road.
The elderly driver was transported to a Victoria hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was arrested at about 6:42 p.m. Friday, March 29, in the 1700 block of Azalea Street. He may be facing several charges including evading arrest and burglary.
The police are investigating the incident.
