Elderly Man Seriously Injured in Austin Auto-Pedestrian Crash on Burleson Road near Highway 71

Austin, Texas (January 19, 2020) – A man in his 70s was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident Saturday night in southeast Austin, according to a local news source.

The accident took place at about 11:00 p.m. on January 18, in the 4700 block of Burleson Road, south of Highway 71.

Police said the man was crossing the street, in the dark and outside a crosswalk, when he was hit by a Ford pickup truck.

The man was rushed to the hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
