Elgin Earl Lahrmann Killed in NE Austin Bicycle Accident on Anderson Lane

Austin, Texas (January 21, 2021) – The bicyclist who was killed in a hit-and-run crash earlier this month in Northeast Austin has been identified as Elgin Earl Lahrmann,62, according to the authorities.

The deadly accident happened around 1:26 p.m., January 10, in the 1000 block of E. Anderson Lane.

According to a preliminary investigation, Lahrmann was riding his bicycle eastbound in the middle lane of traffic when he was rear-ended by a black sedan.

The sedan fled the scene after the accident.

Lahrmann was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas, where he died on January 15th.

An investigation into the accident is underway. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at (512) 974-4424.
