Elia Orlando ID’d as Woman Killed in Harris County Pedestrian Accident on Rankin Road

Harris County, Texas (December 11, 2022) – The woman who died after she was struck by a vehicle late Friday night in Harris County has been identified as Elia Orlando,

The deadly crash happened at around 11:45 p.m. Friday, December 9 in the 530 block of Rankin Road.

Elia Orlando was walking west with her husband, Anthony Orlando, with their two children along the shoulder in the grass.

Elia Orlando reportedly stepped onto the road and yelled at a speeding vehicle that had passed. Anthony Orlando pushed their children out of the way and tried to grab his wife when he saw a westbound Porsche Cayenne SUV coming their way.

The Porsche then struck Elia Orlando.

Elia Orlando sustained serious injuries and was taken to HCA Houston Northwest Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her husband was transported to the same hospital for treatment.

The children were not injured.

The driver of the Porsche stopped at the scene and administered CPR on Elia Orlando. Authorities later determined that the driver was not intoxicated at the time of the accident.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the accident.
