Fabian Morales Killed in Southeast Austin Street Racing Crash on Bluff Springs Road; Jorge Luis Lopez Dominguez Arrested

Austin, Texas (January 17, 2020) – A man was killed Wednesday night in a hit-and-run street racing crash in southeast Austin, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 11:30 p.m. on January 15, in the 7500 block of Bluff Springs Road.

Police said a car and a truck were racing heading northbound, with the truck in the left lane and the car in the right lane.  

The car made a wide right turn into the starting point and was hit by the truck.

The driver of the car, Fabian Morales, 18, was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The truck driver, Jorge Luis Lopez Dominguez, 20, fled the scene but was later arrested. He was charged with second-degree felony racing and second-degree felony failure to stop and render aid. 

The crash remains under investigation.
