Fabian Vasquez Killed in Head-On Crash on West Commerce Street in San Antonio

Fabian Vasquez Killed in San Antonio Two-Vehicle Crash on West Commerce Street near Western Park

San Antonio, Texas (November 9, 2020) – A man was killed, and other people were injured in a head-on collision Friday night in San Antonio’s West Side, according to police.

The fatal crash happened just before 9:00 p.m., November 6, in the 6900 block of West Commerce Street near Western Park.

Police said Fabian Vasquez, 30, stole a red Chevrolet Camaro from a convenience store after the car that had been left unlocked.

Vasquez then drove eastbound in the westbound lane, and a nearby motorist swerved to avoid him. Vasquez also tried to move as well, but instead, he turned into the second lane and crashed head-on into a Jeep.

Vasquez was pronounced dead at the scene.

The people in the Jeep were taken to University Hospital with unknown injuries.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
