Longview Fire Department Employee Injured in Longview Crash on South High Street at Avalon Avenue

Longview, Texas (April 29, 2022) – A Longview Fire Department employee was injured Wednesday in a traffic crash in Longview, authorities said.

The collision took place on South High Street on April 27.

According to the Longview Police Department, a Longview Fire Department SUV was traveling northbound on Southbound High Street in the outside lane facing a green light when the driver of a pickup failed to yield the right of way to the SUV.

The two vehicles eventually collided at Avalon Avenue.

The fire department employee was transported to a nearby hospital in unknown condition.

Further details regarding the crash were not immediately provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
