Firefighter Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on Transmountain Road in El Paso

Firefighter Seriously Injured in El Paso Hit-and-Run Crash on Transmountain Road (Loop 375)

El Paso, Texas (February 12, 2020) – An El Paso firefighter was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident Wednesday morning in El Paso, according to the police.

The crash was reported around 7:30 a.m. on Transmountain Road (Loop 375) at the Resler Exit.

Police said the firefighter was responding to a crash on the westbound lanes of Transmountain Road when he was struck by a vehicle.

The firefighter was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The authorities are looking for the driver of a pickup truck or SUV, who fled the scene after the accident.

The vehicle might have windshield damage.

The crash closed Transmountain Road West near Paseo de Norte and Transmountain Road East near Tom Mays.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call police at 915-212-4080.
