Florida Boy Killed in 7-Vehicle Crash on I-35 in Belton

13-Year-Old Boy Killed in Belton 7-Vehicle Crash on I-35 near Shanklin Road

Belton, Texas (July 22, 2021) – According to the Texas DPS, a 13-year-old Florida boy who was injured in a 7-vehicle crash on July 20 in Belton has died.

The crash happened on northbound I-35 near Shanklin Road.

DPS said a driver didn’t notice traffic that was backed up at a construction zone and ran into traffic head-on at full speed.

At least six people were taken to a local hospital for treatment, where the 13-year-old boy later died.

Two of the victims were under the age of 17.

Six other people who were involved in the crash didn’t sustain serious injuries in the crash.

No further details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
