4 Injured in Winkler County Four-Vehicle Crash on Highway 302 near Black Mountain Sand-Vest Facility

Winkler County, Texas (July 23, 2020) – Four people were injured in a four-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Winkler County, according to DPS.

The crash happened around 5:45 a.m., on July 22, on Highway 302 near the Black Mountain Sand-Vest Facility.

DPS said two truck-tractor semi-trailers were heading westbound on the highway when one of them failed to control its speed and rear-ended the other.

The impact caused the truck that was rear-ended to veer into the eastbound lane where it crashed head-on into another semi-truck.

A fourth vehicle was also involved in the crash.

All four drivers were taken to local hospitals with non- incapacitating injuries.

The crash backed up traffic on the highway all the way to Odessa.

The authorities are investigating the crash.

We hope the injured victims recover quickly.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
