Francis Carroll and Carlton Carroll Injured in Jasper County Two-Vehicle Crash at Highway 190 and FM 777

Jasper County, Texas (August 18, 2022) – According to the authorities, two Buna residents were injured Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash in the south end of Jasper County.

The crash happened shortly before 10:00 a.m., August 15, at the intersection of Highway 190 and Farm to Market Road 777, in front of the offices of the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Authorities said a 2006 Toyota sedan was heading northbound on FM 777 when it failed to yield the right of way and pulled out in front of a 2014 Ford work truck that was heading eastbound on Highway 90, resulting in a collision.

The Toyota driver, Francis Carroll, 78, and passenger Carlton Carroll, 82, both of Buna, were taken to Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The work truck driver, Dustin Melton, 27, and his passenger Caden Melton, 8, both of Call, were uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
