Frankie Weaks Killed in Ward County Two-Vehicle Crash on Ike Street

Ward County, Texas (February 16, 2022) – A woman was killed Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Ward County, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened on February 14, on Ike Street, one mile east of Monahans.

Authorities said Frankie Weaks, 79, was driving southbound on the street when she ran a stop sign, crossed over the service road, went over the burrow ditch, and then vaulted over safety cable into the highway. Her vehicle was then struck by a semi-truck.

The semi-truck caught fire after the crash. 

Weaks was killed in the crash.

The semi-truck driver was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
