Gabriel Garcia Killed in Lufkin Pedestrian Accident on Timberland Drive; Roberto Guerrero Arrested

Lufkin, Texas (December 9, 2021) – The pedestrian who was killed early Sunday morning in a hit-and-run accident in Lufkin has been identified as Gabriel Garcia, 53, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 1:30 a.m., December 5 on Timberland Drive.

Police said Garcia was crossing the street when he was struck by a Chevy Impala.

Garcia was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Impala, Roberto Carlos Guerrero, 32, of Lufkin, fled the scene after the accident. He turned himself in on Wednesday and was arrested. He has been charged with an accident involving injury or death.

The police are investigating the crash.
