49-Year-Old Garry Wise Killed in Montague County Train Accident on Spur 511

Montague County, Texas (April 30, 2020) – A man was killed Saturday afternoon after his vehicle was hit by a train in Sunset, according to officials.

The crash happened around 1:00 p.m. on April 25, at 1033 Spur 511.

Officials said Garry Wise, 49, of Sunset, was driving across the Burlington Northern track when he tried to speed up to make it over the crossing but was struck by a southbound train which was traveling around 40 mph.

Wise was ejected from his vehicle, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deputies are investigating the crash.
