Gerald Anthony Edelen Killed in Jefferson County Pedestrian Accident on IH-10 near Taylors Bayou Bridge

Jefferson County, Texas (March 9, 2021) – According to the DPS, the pedestrian who was killed last month in a hit-and-run crash in Jefferson County has been identified as Gerald Anthony Edelen,29, of Houston.

The deadly accident occurred on February 8, on IH-10, near Taylors Bayou Bridge.

DPS said Edelen was walking westbound along the highway and was pulling a small dolly when he was struck by an unknown vehicle. He was wearing a black face covering and dark clothing, including a black hoodie, black sweatpants, and gray tennis shoes. 

Edelen was killed in the crash. 

Troopers were unable to locate personal items that Edelen had with him at the time of the accident. He was carrying a brown backpack that contained an iPad, game controller, drill, and his wallet. 

An investigation is underway. Anyone with any information about the accident or the location of Edelen’s personal items is asked to call DPS at 936-699-7340.
