Gilberto Millot Killed in El Paso Two-Vehicle Crash on Paso Del Norte at N. Resler Drive

El Paso, Texas (August 21, 2020) – A man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday in West El Paso, according to police.

The fatal crash happened on August 19, at the intersection of Paso Del Norte and the 1600 block of N. Resler Drive.

Police said Gilberto Millot, 56, was driving a 2011 Toyota Corolla westbound on Paso Del Norte and was attempting to turn southbound onto N. Resler Drive.

Chase Thouvenell, 33, was driving northbound on Resler Drive when he failed to yield to traffic as he entered the uncontrolled intersection and crashed into the Millot’s car.

Millot was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Officers said the traffic lights were out in the area due to a power outage at the time of the crash. They also said failure to yield to traffic and driver inattention on the part of Thouvenell were factors in the crash.

The authorities are investigating the crash.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Gilberto Millot.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
