Guatemalan Man Killed in El Paso Pedestrian Accident on Loop 375 at Fonseca Drive
El Paso, Texas (November 18, 2022) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on Thursday in El Paso, according to police.
The deadly crash happened on Loop 375 at Fonseca Drive on Thursday, November 17.
Police said a group of six male pedestrians were running across Loop 375 from south to north, when one of the pedestrians, a 52-year-old Guatemalan man, was hit by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene.
The Guatemalan man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. His name has not been released.
The suspect, 61-year-old Ismael Galindo Corral from Ciudad Juarez, contacted the Central Regional Command Center and provided the location of the vehicle that was operated during the collision.
Corral was eventually under arrest and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
