Guillermo Serna Dies Months after Wrong-Way Crash on State Highway 358 in Corpus Christi

Guillermo Serna Killed in Corpus Christi Car Crash on State Highway 358 near Airline Road
Corpus Christi, Texas (March 26, 2019) – The man who was injured in a wrong-way crash on New Year’s Day in Corpus Christi has died, a local news source reported.
The crash was reported at about 5:00 a.m. January 1, on State Highway 358 near Airline Road.
As per the report, Guillermo Serna, 71, his wife, his son and another family member were on their way to drop off his son, who was going back to his Army unit in Kansas, at the airport when a gray SUV which was traveling the wrong way crashed into them head-on.
The wrong-way driver identified as, Richard Lopez, 28, died at the scene.
Serna and three other people were taken to the hospital where Serna succumbed to his injuries on March 24.
A GoFundMe was created by Serna’s co-workers at AutoNation Toyota where Serna worked for about 23 years.
An investigation is ongoing.
