Gustavo Villareal Hospitalized after Loving County Crash at County Road 300 and Ranch to Market Road 652
Loving County, Texas (June 1, 2022) – Gustavo Villareal, 30, of Odessa, Texas, was injured after being involved in a deadly car crash Monday morning at an intersection in Loving County.
The tragic car wreck happened at about 8:00 a.m. Monday, May 30, at the intersection of County Road 300 and Ranch to Market Road 652, approximately 21 miles north of Mentone.
Authorities said a Toyota Tundra pickup was heading northbound on County Road 300 when the driver allegedly ran a red light at the intersection and struck the left passenger side of a 2017 F-150 Ford pickup that was traveling westbound on Ranch to Market Road 652.
Due to the impact of the collision, the Tundra slid through the intersection and slammed into a utility pole with its right passenger side. Three rear-seat passengers of the Tundra were ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
The three ejected victims were killed along with the right front passenger of the Tundra. The driver and the left rear passenger of the Ford F-150 also died in the crash.
Villareal was taken to Medical Center Hospital in stable condition. Another patient was also transported to the same hospital in serious condition.
Authorities temporarily blocked the intersection for several hours as they investigated the scene.
No further details about the collision were immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
